I had a pal called Tony Brookfield who lived on Industry Street at Walkley.

His dad lived on The Bolehills at Walkley.

Well Sarah, I worked with your dad on building many steel furnaces throughout England and Ireland.

Tony always liked to have a laugh and joke and seemed to be a smashing bloke.

Is Tony still around as you seem to talk about him in the past tense.

I also worked with Tony's dad was his name Colin.

One of my ancestors married into the Brookfield Family. George Harry BROOKFIELD married Sarah Clarkson MACHIN

In 1911 they had 11 children (6 girls, 5 boys) They were living at 105 Bradley Street, Crookes.

I haven't researched this side of the family any further though

It looks like the family I mentioned also had a Colin

Births Mar 1912

BROOKFIELD Colin C Machin Ecclesall B. 9c 871

But there was also another couple of Colins born in the area

Births Dec 1932

Brookfield Colin A Gratton Sheffield 9c 467

Births Dec 1911

Brookfield Colin Brookfield Sheffield 9c 1181

This marriage would suggest Colin A and Colin C are related

Marriages Sep 1934

Brookfield Colin C Gratton Ecclesall B. 9c 923
