Why advertise and then not reply to enquirers?

Whats the use of advertising something for sale on here and then not replying to pms. As the topic gets closed a private message is the only way anyone interested can reply. Do folk not really want to sell what they are advertising?! Seems pointless really to advertise in the first place !!

Agreed, I have encountered this phenomenon in several forums... However, it is also possible that the person in question has already sold whatever he intended to sell and that not replying is his/her way of saying "it is already gone".

It is annoying but probably means the item has gone so can't be bothered to respond. I would think if it was still for sale they would respond

Yeah and the other side of the coin is people dont respond AFTER YOU respond to THEM, i've had this many times and even when the so-called interested party is still on line, is it too much trouble just to simply send a pm saying, thanks but no thanks, not interested in *your item* any longer.
