Consideration for the rights of others? Do you not thing giving people free homes at the expense of working people is showing consideration? And the additional £14 for a spare bedroom quite a good deal, all things considered?

I don't personally eat Maccy D's OR watch Jeremy Kyle, Kyle thrives on exploiting the worst examples of society. He is a disgrace.

I myself, despite setbacks with health {lung cancer and rheumatoid arthritis] am still in the 'haves' group. Its been hard but I don't despise the less fortunate. I am nearly retired, been semi retired for 5 years and am still OK. Maybe its the fact that I paid into pensions, savings etc. and was self employed for 14 years. I ran my own business.

You could say that with my background I should be a Tory, but I am definitely not. I don't know all the answers but I do recognise unfeeling, vindictive people when I see them. That's Cameron and Co.

Justice is always hard to attain, but the British Conservative Party don't even understand the concept of justice or fairness. I am not a 'pseudo socialist', I am a socialist and a Christian and always will be.

The whole UN argument is utter BS. "Human Rights"? To get free rooms at the publics expense? How many other countries don't even have any kind of social housing? Are they all guilty of human rights violations? Shouldn't the UN be doing something about that, first?

I personally think it was a brilliant idea to introduce the bedroom tax, as it hammers the very poor and vulnerable, making some homeless, thus on the streets, where they can get pneumonia or something like that and problem solved.

 

Better still the money taken from the undeserving lot of scroungers and parasites which comes to 12.5 billion or near that figure, will be given to the large rich building contractors, who can make even more money through raising house prices due to this windfall.

 

It will and is fueling a rise in house prices, or at worse stabilising the fall since 2009.

 

Of course ordinary people with low wages will not be able to afford buying property so the rich landlords will be allowed to cash in on the rising bonanza, as in January the doors are being thrown wide open, so get ready for a mini gold rush.

 

So house prices are now on the rise, and will continue till just after the next election where the Tories will be voted the best party ever, to give money away, with this and the bribe of the post office. sell off!

 

Don't you just love short term economics!!!!??? Time for me to buy a bigger wallet, while money stocks last, well at least 2 years of unabated growth.

 

 

Who can we thank for this mini boom, well the poorest of course as without their contribution this could never happen, Bless them all, in their new miserable lives!!!

The inhuman treatment of disabled people dished out by HM Government offices is UN business. The bedroom tax is only part of it.

If the UN are asked to investigate and they oblige, findings are published.

Cameron hates this............he should hang his head in shame and control his Fascist party.

An under-fire UN inspector said she had never faced such an ‘aggressive’ reaction from a government, after a report she wrote was branded an ‘absolute disgrace’ by a senior Tory politician.

 

 

Former housing minister Grant Shapps has written to the UN, calling for an investigation into special rapporteur Raquel Rolnik for political bias.

 

She presented her preliminary findings yesterday after a two week trip around the UK, recommending the immediate suspension and review of the bedroom tax on human rights grounds.

 

‘It was the first time a government has been so aggressive,’ she said in an interview with Inside Housing.

 

‘When I was in the USA, I had a constructive conversation with them accepting some things and arguing with others. They did not react like this.’

 

Ms Rolnik has also carried out missions to the Maldives, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Algeria, Argentina, Rwanda, Israel/Palestine and Indonesia.

 

Rejecting allegations of bias she said: ‘I didn’t come here to investigate the bedroom tax, I came here as a normal country mission, to assess the situation.

 

‘I came across the bedroom tax when I was here, but I am an independent investigator.

The conclusions are so clear that most children could make them. The policy is deeply flawed, unfair to many people it affects, not a product of coordinated departmental policy and not rooted in real world practicalities. It's an own goal - it brings the housing crisis into sharper focus.

It's clear that she was here on invitation from the government, even meeting with ministers and officials of the UK government, and with representatives from the Scottish and Welsh governments.

 

The scope of her mission was to report on housing in general and she makes many valid observations, some very positive and some not so positive.

 

In a nutshell she can see that the UK housing sector is becoming increasingly broken, and she makes some urgent recommendations. One of these is to suspend (not scrap) and review the spare room subsidy. It is sensible advice and should be followed IMO because the policy should be partnered with policy to provide the additional housing and social infrastructure needed to fairly re-align current provision.

Well it is age discrimination then because people over 60 are exempt if they are on housing benefit with one or more spare bedrooms. Why should this only apply to the under sixties?

Age discrimination in the UK is now a priority problem that needs the UN intervention?

 

Like Jeffrey Shaw has said, it shouldn't be a concern to the UN because there's far more evils in the world that they should be sorting out.
