Corn dog=corn beef / potted splog=potted meat:gag:

 

We used to call potted meat/ potted beef "potted dog" in our family.

 

(and Cheese was called "mouse meyt" - i.e. mouse meat)

I can remember when we used to queue up anywhere and a mate came along and to save him going to the end of the queue he used to say "pull me in" so he put his hand out so did I and "Pulled him into the queue" I cant remember anyone compaining about this childhood practice.

There was also a standard line we kids used to get into an "A" picture - "Missus will you take one (two) in, please?"

 

If you chose well and got lucky, she might share her bag of toffees with you.

I've heard the phrase used "Ee went for a Reyt pearler" as in "he fell heavily" (whether as a result of being thumped or tripping)
