I was told that as ads are different to threads its possible to bump an ad, but only once. Sometimes some new relevant information comes to light after a period of time. I'd have thought a lost dog thread would be the perfect example of when it should be allowed. e.g. So the owner could let those who'd promised to keep an eye out for the dog know that it had been found.
