Downsunder   10 #27 Posted May 3, 2013 I'm digging a wine cellar at our place, started 3 months ago. It's 2.5 metres wide, 8 metres long and deep enough to stand in, luckily I'm not very tall. I estimate I work on it about 4-5 hours a week as I am at college full time. Up to now it's all been pick and shovel because I can't afford a backhoe but I'm thinking of hiring a jackhammer which would make things a lot easier. I'm approx. 1/3 of the way there. JOHN HABS Â Â 10 #28 Posted May 3, 2013 If you sink the legs of the trampoline into the garden so its at ground level, then there will not be much movement for the canvas to bounce on its springs - there needs to be a good clearance. Â Also in sinking the legs in the ground, the trampoline is more likely to get covered in mud, grass cuttings, slugs and snails. Â If you still want to go ahead and do this, then instead of digging a big hole, just place the trampoline where its going to go.....mark around the bottom of the legs, move the trampoline out of the way, get a sweeping brush handle ( minus the brush head ), measure from the bottom of it 6 to 9 inches whichever you prefer and mark it with a pencil, then wrap some coloured pvc tape around the handle at the mark you have made, go to each mark on the ground and using a good heavy hammer, hit the handle into the ground until it reaches the depth at which you have put the tape on - do this on all four marks. Â Put the trampoline back into its place with the legs down each hole - if there's space between the legs and the hole, fill them with small pebbles - job done ! zebbadee   10 #29 Posted May 4, 2013 Hi thanks for everyone's help. It was just a thought as I have 4 small children second youngest being autistic and unaware of dangers so I thought maybe this would be safer as he really loves the trampoline. So I'm looking at around £150 to dig a hole to fit it in?
 Share this content via...
foxy lady   10 #30 Posted May 4, 2013 Hi I'm wanting to dig my kids trampoline in to the garden so the actual trampoline is level with the garden . Does anyone know how I can do this? It will obviously be a huge hole to dig so a regular spade would take FOREVER if anyone can help please let me know. Thankyou  You will be able to keep frogs in the pool of green slime that develops beneath.
 Share this content via...
autumn   10 #31 Posted May 4, 2013 Something you need to bear in mind is - once the kids stop using the trampoline there will be a big hole in your garden. I mention this as we dug a huge hole years ago for a pond. We got rid of the fish last year and we now have this big crater in the garden.  The Op could fill up your crater with the soil he takes out of his hole .
