Sheffield Students' Union team up with JD Roots for a night of awesome live music and DJs.

Our headliner is Radio One tastemaker, Zane Lowe, the man who's consistently got his finger on the pulse when it comes to new music and breaking new acts. His DJ sets are a sight to behold as he scratches, cuts and pastes his way through countless genres and makes the crowd MOVE. This is one of his festival warm-up shows where he'll be testing out all his new weapons ahead of unleashing them on the summer masses!

Speaking of festivals, Sheffield's own DRENGE have them queing up with offers! Already confirmed for the Rolling Stones massive Hyde Park gig, as well as Latitude, Bestival and Hop Farm (and there's more BIG news on the way)!

Look out for their debut album, coming very soon.

Another band who are no strangers to big stages are the DEAD SONS. Having recently released their debut album 'The Hollers and The Hymns' to critical acclaim they've gone on to sell out headline shows in their native Sheffield as well as up and down the country. Having already headlined Tramlines Festival, there's more massive shows on the way for these lads.

YOUNG PECULIAR were picked as JD ROOTS winners by a panel of judges including Tony Platt who has worked in the studio with The Who, Rolling Stones,Led Zeppelin and Bob Marley and Adam Bulleid from the NME. A student band from Sheffield Uni, make sure you come show your support!

PATRICK ROSE

Winner of the critics' choice at this year's SU Band Comp, the acoustic singer song-writer will be opening things up on the Octagon stage.

DJ ANDY H will be closing the night after Zane Lowe. A regular festival favourite (Outlook, Kendal Calling, Glastonbury, Tramlines) and resident at The Tuesday Club, Andy counts Zane among his biggest fans.

DAZ LANDSLIDE has an encyclopaedic knowledge of indie music and holds a weekly Saturday night residency at The Bowery where he plays Indie, Northern Soul, Motown and much more beside.
