Cylinder Head Skimming in Sheffield? Classic Mini

Recommended Posts

Can't see the need to skim the old cast iron head off an A series tbh

Just chuck a new gasket in there

I agree ming,i don't think in all the years that i was repairing cars, that i ever had to have a cast metal head skimmed,.its the alloy ones that usually need it.

Hi Jess , Try Dexters on Eldon Street in Town if you need it skimmed , 0114 2750007 , we've used him before , and cheaper than all of the prices mentioned so far,the chap that runs it works odd hours though , but if you leave him a message he'll get back to you

Any of you guys got a 1000cc+ mini engine for spares or repairs, just need the bare engine and don't need the gearbox either. Let me know if you have anything to offer. Cheers ALAN Sheffield S25

If the gasket is only a tenner i would stick one on first and see how it is.
