There was a charity concert to raise money for the Women of Steel statue. (Perhaps bronze in Christa's case.)

Do they really need to pay someone £150k a year to read the news sure there are plenty of perfectly suitable people who would do it for a fraction of that.

 

I mean just what are the skills that make a local news reader worth that much money.

 

If its sky paying it then fair enough but that is not good use of tax payers money imo.

 

Its not as easy as it looks not been funny but you try reading from an autoQ on live TV knowing there are thousands of people out there watching you and the whole news team relying on you being proffessional.

Its not easy anything could go wrong and you need to be able to go on if it does.

Having said that £150k is well over the top but like acting anybody thinks they could go on Corrie and act or write a song but its an art and until you try it it isn't easy, just looks it
