craig12 10 #1 Posted April 7, 2013 can anyone tell me please the cheapest way to buy a static caravan under £8000 you see some caravans on the sales pitch , some are sited , then there are the off site ones that may be miles away from your chosen resort with transport costs, im trying to work out the cheapest payment of fees, extras i think if you buy one out of the ad mag for instance , theres a transfer fee is a sited one cheaper on an existing plot? Magstherags 10 #2 Posted April 7, 2013 Best to get one sited really, however I don't know if there's a cheap way!! When I owned a caravan and wanted to sell it the site owner wanted to charge me 500 just to tow it 100 yards off his land because the buyer wanted to move it to a different site. Plus be careful re site fees, my friends been paying upwards of 6,000 pound per year. sorry I sound pessimistic, I loved my caravan but it became expensive. Good luck
 Share this content via...
Allen 38 #3 Posted April 8, 2013 A friend of mine couldn't sell hers. Even offered to give it away free. It wasn't that old....2000 model Site fees are a killer! Better to buy a tourer. Go where you want when you want....or leave on site at cheaper rates
 Share this content via...
GrannyGranny 10 #4 Posted April 8, 2013 I looked at this last year and there are a few that are reasonable for site fees ie. £2k per year. Also be careful if you want to sub-let, lots don't allow it. I was thinking about near to Sutton On Sea. http://www.springsholidayestates.co.uk/TrusthorpeSprings/TrusthorpeSpringsLocation.html
 Share this content via...
iansheff 88 #5 Posted April 8, 2013 Have a drive to the coast where you want one and have a walk round the sites see what is for sale.
 Share this content via...
