Has anyone used PJ Properties

But should T have to pay it at all?

Good question, I did with Blundells, I was also forced to take contents insurance that included Tenants Liability insurance.

When I rented my property out I put buildings insurance, rent guard and legal cover in place myself and left the contents up to the tenant. I also did not charge them admin fees but I did it privately. The admin fee is just an overpriced fee for the paperwork the agent does. The landlord will have probably already forked out fees at their end as well.

The contents that you bring are yours alone- so why's it the business of L whether or not you as T insure them?

Because apparently we have to have the T liability insurance in place to cover the L's contents that are left in the property. Seems a bit of a con but we really wanted the property so I found my own contents quote and didn't go with the agents.
