Dan_Ashcroft   10 #25 Posted March 24, 2013 The geographical model based on GCE O level(circa 1968) has been denounced by Danny Dorling and other academics as over-simplistic.  The Sheffield Deprivation Maps (particularly the last page of the following link) shows that the A61/west-east divide holds very true in Sheffield:  http://www.lasos.org.uk/get/ShowResourceFile.aspx?ResourceID=1101  ---------- Post added 24-03-2013 at 22:28 ----------  Another one here, this one showing the A61: http://www.yhpho.org.uk/resource/view.aspx?RID=110227
 Share this content via...

Nell7 Â Â 10 #27 Posted March 25, 2013 Having lived in a fair few areas of Sheffield over the past 4 years (I was a student so have moved 5 times!) my favourite place to live is Nether Edge, very leafy and green, beautiful big houses and not far from Abbeydale/London road, so very regular public transport and some fantastic shops and restaurants close by. michaelwat   10 #30 Posted March 26, 2013 If you want a nice area, 2 bedroomed house for around £80k, I'd recommend Heeley. I love living here, it has everything you could actually need. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-33544067.html Good transport links along Queens Road towards S8 (Bus routes 53, 25, 25A etc.) and it's close to the city centre. daniel3982   10 #31 Posted March 27, 2013 I'd also recommend Heeley or Abbeydale if you're working in S8, a few 2 bed terraces for around £85,90k so you might be able to get them in your budget. Otherwise Lowedges isn't the worst estate in the World and is near S8.
 Share this content via...

I am looking to move anywhere within 5 miles radios from the city centre.  I will be much obliged for any input.  Thank you  Jordanthorpe is great
 Share this content via...
