Recommendations for someone to fit a new screen on laptop

Recommended Posts

Hi :help:

My laptop screen has smashed (not even sure how) so it needs replacing...

Please can I have some recommendations/approx quotes for someone to fit me a new screen.

Or...how easy is it to fix myself if I buy a new screen?

Its a Packard Bell easynote I think (can check when I get home).

Thank you :)

how old is it and how much did you pay for it?

Reason I ask is the repair will be fairly expensive and if it's an old cheap laptop to start off with then you're better off replacing the entire lot.

Members of my family have been using the little shop on Shoreham Street, at the rear of the Utd ground, for repairs and have been happy with the results and prices.

Honestly it is an easy thing to do yourself.

You just need a bit of patience and those small screwdrivers.

Its just a panel to remove, a few screws and unplugging the existing screen and then the reverse to fit.

I've done 2 on a HP and I'm not that technicallt minded.

If you have access to another laptop/computer then just search on Youtube for a demonstration.

I agree with GrannyGranny, it's a lot easier than you think to do it yourself. There are plenty of videos out there showing how to do it.

I did mine last year, the new screen was £65 delivered next day and I was quoted £125 by a couple of places.

Thank you everyone, I'd try and do it myself but I know I'd muck it up!!! LOL!!!

Its nearly 3 years old, I had it replaced last year and it cost me £70 but that place has closed down now (was on Woodseats) :(

The little shop on Shoreham street is quite good.

I've been there a few times and they're very helpful.

If you're in S6 or that area I recently used Taplin Computers underneath the post office in Hillsborough and they were very good.
