Jeffrey Shaw   90 #13 Posted March 18, 2013 SCC are offering just the same as several private-sector utility-switching firms do. I imagine that the bulk-buying achieves an extra saving (and that SCC are remunerated too).
 Share this content via...
Mr Bloom   10 #14 Posted March 22, 2013 Have you registered for The Big Switch?  As far as I know, there is nothing to lose, but potentially quite a bit to gain. I've been hearing about communities getting cheaper energy deals by grouping together. This sounds great.  Are you going to be signing up?   http://bigcommunityswitch.ichoosr.com/product/index.rails?actionId=
 Share this content via...
Mr Bloom   10 #15 Posted March 22, 2013 I registered my interest, there's nothing to be lost and possibly something to gain if the savings are worthwhile. You don't have to commit to the scheme at this stage so why not register?  My sentiments exactly.
 Share this content via...
Hook   10 #16 Posted March 22, 2013 Do the council get cashback from the energy companies for all the people who switch?
 Share this content via...
Buzzing   10 #17 Posted March 27, 2013 Ive signed up as people have said there is nothing to loose by just regsitering your interest at this stage. Hate to think what my gas bills will be like given the freezing weather we are having at the moment. Heres the weblink to sign up in case anyone needs it  https://bigcommunityswitch.ichoosr.com/home/index.rails?  Over 54,000 people have now signed up
 Share this content via...

mrs patching   10 #19 Posted April 19, 2013 Has anyone accepted the quote from Sainsburys energy ? . I will be £150 better off if i change. But i know Sainburys are not a good company to use . They are extremely heavy handed with trying to sell you their services. When i changed to their telephone tarriff my debit card was cloned and alot of money was taken . Not sure the savings is worth the hassle.
 Share this content via...
Mikes10 Â Â 10 #20 Posted April 19, 2013 I'm currently with SSE, and on a fixed tarriff until August 2014 thus I didn't sign-up for the big switch. SSE charges and tarrifs below. Â Â Â Yorkshire Area: SSE charges and tarriffs for Price Fix-7 inclusive of VAT Â Electric charge per day: 16.05 Electric unit tarrif: 13.90 Â Gas charge per day: 34.34 Gas unit tarrif: 4.
 Share this content via...
Jeffrey Shaw   90 #21 Posted April 19, 2013 I find Atlantic (a separately-run part of SSE) to be excellent value.
 Share this content via...
oinkjames   10 #22 Posted April 19, 2013 Just compared my quote from the Big switch with Sainsburys via uSwitch - and although the uSwitch one is up to Apr 2014 as opposed to July 2014, the unit price is cheaper going through uSwitch. Hmmmm.
 Share this content via...
