Areffty   10 #1 Posted March 12, 2013 Had to drive around the Sicey Avenue area today on business, and came across the new 'give way' junctions and nearly drove straight across one of them. The dashed double white lines at the junction are obscured until you're right at the junction, by the full width red road hump on the approach. The inverted triangle marking that you usually get in the road before a 'give way' is missing. Is this a new standard on road markings or has it just been missed off by accident? BLADE8T1 Â Â 10 #2 Posted March 12, 2013 They could have missed it out. There was a lot of of resurfacing done last summer, then they just stopped, leaving some roads half finished.Maybe money run out lol.
 Share this content via...

Areffty   10 #4 Posted March 13, 2013 http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1072404&highlight=shiregreen+junctions??  Unlike the junctions described in the previous thread (quoted above) which have no markings at all, such as those at Wisewood, these have some of the expected markings but not the 'inverted triangle' painted on the road. Â Or they are probably following the 5 year programme of works, which you can find pretty easily that explains which roads are being done in which order. The money hasn't run out. Have a look and find out. The main roads and junctions of the side roads will possibly have a different "finish" and hopefully be more hard wearing as they will be used by more traffic. Â But the next road up joins the same main road as mine, and yet theirs is completely finished, and the road above that one too.Is it not feasible that they have spent their budget for the year?and are waiting for the new financial year to begin? kimbowbill   10 #11 Posted March 15, 2013 i live on one of the said roads, there will be no road markings, not now, not ever, you just have to guess where they might be, and if you have a collision the insurance company can decide who's at fault, simples, argh don't ya just love sheffield
 Share this content via...

The city has been split up into zones, 'A' zones consist of purely traffic routes and 'B' zones consist of side roads. So its mostly likely that Shiregreen is made up of both A & B zones and all the zones won't be done at the same time.
 Share this content via...
