laceypoos   10 #1 Posted February 26, 2013 A complete nightmare, got stuck in it tonight on the way to the retail park. The main problem was people blocking lanes to try and advance a cars length. On my reckoning 3 good old traffic directing cops would have seen the traffic flowing at a normal (if peak] rate so why don't they ? GrannyGranny   10 #2 Posted February 26, 2013 Have you contacted NCC Highways or SYP?  Its only short term so to divert 3 police officers at short notice would be a complete waste of resources. Its slow traffic! It happens all over the city depending on the time and location. Do you want them to have a team on standby at all times just in case? irenewilde   10 #4 Posted February 26, 2013 There certainly used to be police directing traffic at the Arena when there was an event on. A friend who wasn't familiar with the area took a wrong turn and we ended up having words with one of them. It was all good natured! geared   319 #7 Posted February 26, 2013 Yep, rubbish time to pick to go visit homebase.  It's abit of a waste of police resources tho, because you can say they should do that for every public event.  Just look at the state of the traffic after a football match, sure a few bobbies directing traffic would get things moving well - but whats the point, it will all be over in an hour or so.  The police do bog all as it is, but directing traffic isn't a good use of anyones time. I'd much rather they concentrate on finding those morons with guns around manor area.
 Share this content via...

MattTurner   10 #10 Posted February 26, 2013 A complete nightmare, got stuck in it tonight on the way to the retail park.  A simple solution? Ride there on a bicycle, there are loads of safe off road cycle paths all around the retail park linking it to other parts of the city.
