World Book Day 2013

Hello People

 

Posted this on the general forum, but didn't get any replies, hoping somebody can help?

 

'Does anybody have experience of World Book Day? Blackwells want me to get involved. I write and draw Graphic Novels/Comics set in Sheffield, but they aren’t aimed at kids, the narratives are quite complicated? Is this just a junior and infant school thing?'

I remember when I was at primary school doing A LOT of things for World Book Day. So does my stepsons primary & my daughters nursery, I can't remember anything going on for it in secondary school though so it may just be a childrens thing.

Blackwells have all the Graphic Novels and comics together. My stuff is next to Iron-Man and Superman, they must have thought comics, kids and me being local, perfect. But my narratives are quite complicated and are mostly macabre horror...

I was hoping more Creative Writing courses, at least GCSE level... Thank you for the information, if you're right, I think I will give it a miss.

You might as well give it a look to be honest, opportunities don't always come up. It would be a good chance for you to meet other graphic novelists, plus you never know, who's to say the parents might not like your work?

Thanks, Akeem B, but I reckon I'll stick to gathering an older audiience, via my blog... Anyway, sales are looking up now the Sheffield Star have got involved.
