Meteor passing earth tonight

Is it right what I've just seen on the news.. a meteor heading for earth 15 metres long missing earth by 17000 mile and the suns abit upset throwing some kind of storm and sending some kind of wave to earth knocking all the satellite's down ect..nasa say its the closest one were getting from many decades... kimd of scary if you ask me..

15 meters? Thats tiny in asteroid terms.

 

Are you sure it's not 15 miles or kilometres across?

Not much to be scared about if it's passing by 17000 miles away. It's the ones that hit us you need to worry about.
