OneSpeed   10 #1 Posted January 26, 2013 Hi All,  It's been a while, happy to report that moo the rescue dog is still on fine fettle and happier than ever! Have now added an old jack russell to the family, who despite being blind and deaf (until he hears the fridge door opens!), gets along just fine. Only problem is that he has very slight incontinence when he sleeps. Even if we take him out loads, he is prone to leaking. It wakes him up and he's immediately ashamed, but when he's awake he always asks to go out. Any advice or recommendations as to any supplements or medication that might help would be gratefully received. Currently we're just operating on lots of trips outside, monitoring water intake before bed and no salty snacks or such like.  thanks all onespeed, mikey moo and badger
 Share this content via...
Bikertec   12 #2 Posted January 26, 2013 Puppy pads where he sleeps. Our old girl Jack russell is 15 but hasn't got to the incontinent stage yet. She does need a run up to get on the settee though. We have 3 at 15,3, and 1 the 1 year old runs the shop.
 Share this content via...
maryjane   11 #3 Posted January 26, 2013 could you try laying those incontinence sheets used for babies/toddlers cots etc in his bed? they allow the urine to seep through but keep the top area dry, in theory anyway! and how lovely for this little old gentleman to have found a home, well done to you. OneSpeed   10 #4 Posted January 26, 2013 thanks all, have got master plan which involves moo's spare plastic dog bed, lined with puppy pads, then badger's bed nestled within. then if badger leaks then at least he won't be so uncomfortable  x
 Share this content via...

purplepeke   10 #6 Posted January 26, 2013 My elderly, SBT x Lab, had Propalin syrup, it did seem to help, she was a bitch though, so not, sure,if it works on both sexes, as the 'pipework' is different...... it was from the vets, so you could enquire, she was almost dry with using it, only leaked very occaisionally, sadly lost her a number of years ago, now, but there may still be products that do the same thing, not sure how it worked, but it did, if that makes sense!!!
