Did You Live In Shiregreen?

Recommended Posts

Is Don Fillingham or Les Calow both apprentices at Brightside Foundry and Engineering Co in the 1950s on the thread?

Will memorys of the Easter cycling trip to Lincoln, Sleaford, Boston, Old Leake. Then Scegness, - Then back home with a gale force wind behind us via Gainsborough, Bawtry, Maltby ready for work Tuesday morning come to mind?

Did not get saddlesore then or were past my many cars either.

Hello Albert I have come across your leter on the Forum and it has brought back memories of Brightside foundry and the names of Don Fillingham and Les Calow. My wife and I and extended family now live in Melbourne Australia a long way from where we last met. I would be very interested to hear from you or any one else from over there. Cheers Don Thacker

i delivered coop milkround there at that time with my old mate charlie

Hi A.Woollen. Was interested to read that you delivered milk to the Deep

Lane area. My parents had the co-op milk, I remember the milk tokens, you

must have delivered to 53 Deep Lane !!

My father worked part time at Grange Lane Farm, I helped to deliver milk

from the farm to Sheffield Lane Top in a horse and cart which went down

Deep Lane.

I also know Andy Sharratt and his sister Judy. A few more names come to

mind:- Hodgett, Rollings, Clayton,

I last visited Deep Lane 5 years ago, and so sad to see it's decline.
