geared   303 #61 Posted February 2, 2017 Hi does anyone know what The Royal Oak is going to be ? there seems to be a lot of building work happening .  Must be renovations to open up as a pub again.  No planning permission has been filed for any major changes. kidneystone   23 #62 Posted February 2, 2017 The Royal Oak now has shop for rent signs up. I have spoke to the builders today and they have informed me that it is being converted into two shops, a restaurant and a flat.
 Share this content via...

geared   303 #65 Posted February 3, 2017 Yes just seen the two shops to let signs . Wonder what kind of restaurant it will be ? .  Hopefully not another Kebab joint, don't need anymore on that street.  It's a tough spot to run a restaurant from, lots of people go to the Wetherspoon a few doors down, reducing the number of customers for a restaurant. kidneystone   23 #66 Posted February 3, 2017 Hopefully the shops will not become hairdressers.
 Share this content via...
Beligerence   10 #67 Posted February 3, 2017 Hopefully the shops will not become hairdressers.  Surely market forces will dictate what the shops will become? Anything is better than shops sitting there empty for years on end.  Some odd folk on here, would rather have empty shops than people renting them out. geared   303 #68 Posted February 3, 2017 Hopefully the shops will not become hairdressers.  There's two or more a stones throw away from there, you'd have to be pretty brave to try open a new one up there.
 Share this content via...
