eric_gao   10 #1 Posted January 8, 2013 is there any french restaurant in sheffield besides Cafe Rouge?
 Share this content via...
Mouserat   10 #2 Posted January 8, 2013 Bistrot Pierre on Ecclesall Road South - quite good:-  http://www.lebistrotpierre.co.uk/locations/sheffield  Chez Lalou on Commonside (opposite the Springvale pub), although personally I don't particularly like their food or find it very French. Absolutely huge portions and friendly though, when they're open.
 Share this content via...
iano   10 #3 Posted January 8, 2013 Cafe Ceres on corner of Hunters Bar roundabout.  Independent cafe and Bistro, the chef/owner is French. Recommended
 Share this content via...
taxman   12 #4 Posted January 9, 2013 I can only echo Mouserat. Bistrot Pierre has never disappointed.  Chez Lalou is a strange little place. Nice enough food and friendly service but it's a little unkempt and scruffy.  The portions are enormous (a whole trout with prawns and veg as a starter for just a fiver for instance) and then there are the curious pre-starter "nibbles" of chicken wings and bruschetta. After all that there's really no need for a main course.
 Share this content via...

rosaespanola   10 #8 Posted February 16, 2013 Avoid Chez Lahlou like the plague, the service is dire and the food was appalling when we went. Bistrot Pierre was pretty decent, particularly for a chain restaurant. Never tried Cafe Ceres but I've heard good things about it.
