Life of Pi, about the island

Recommended Posts

The island Pi drifted to glows at night and shows the figure of a female, that's his mom right?

I believe the island to be an example of his state of mind. Like it is representing his madness, he finds everything he needs on it but in the end there is nothing on it there for him, it is the last thing he has to hang onto until he reaches land.

As for the mother, I always felt the orangutan represented his mother.... The idea of the book is you have your own beliefs/ faith.
