Will the Mah Jong nights come back in 2007 ?

Just found this thread. Had no idea there were so many mah jong-ers in Sheffield. I've not played in years (my grandad taught me how when I was even smaller than I am now but I've mostly forgotten). My mah jong set is hiding under my bed gathering dust at the moment.

 

Are new mah-jongers welcommed or would I be giggled at and poked with a stick?

I'm definitely hoping that they will re-appear. I really enjoy playing Mah-Jong.

 

I wonder if the rotten weather and dark nights conspired to put folks off?

 

the turnouts (well turnout , singular seeing as it was only me attending!!!) were disappointing.

 

I hope folk will get themselves into gear, and that we can get the ball rolling (sparrows twittering?) again soon.

Hi everyone,

I'm back in the land of the living although not sure when I will be returning to work (got a couple of 'problems') and back in the Mah jong groove. Safetypin need not worry, I am usually the butt of everyone's jokes. I play to my own rules which causes great amusement.

Thanks RR and PT, apart from a couple of 'problems' I am quite well. Hope to be back at work by the end of Feb/early March. Will post on this forum and we can take up the Mah Jong baton once again? Where? Devonshire Arms or Cat?

GO. never played it, would you like to bring it along and we can have a go?

Got given (or rather my girlfriend did) a mahjong set recently, and decided to try and learn the game. Been playing on the internet, but that doesn't entirely sit right with me.

 

If you people ever start this meet up again, I'd love to come along.
