How to open Fiat Punto bonnet if catch wont work

I fix puntos all the time and the correct way to open the bonnet when the catch is seized / cable broken is for someone to lift up on thee bonnet and then you can get in to the catch bolts with a socket extention bar and rachet, undo the bolts and bobs uncle its open !
