southcoast   10 #1 Posted January 4, 2013 Anyone any idea how to get the bonnet open if the inside catch wont open it?
 Share this content via...
smithy266 Â Â 21 #2 Posted January 4, 2013 Try using the inside lever again, at the same time, ask someone to put a bit of weight on the bonnet where the catch mechanism is. Might just do it.
 Share this content via...

southcoast   10 #6 Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) gonna try to push on the bonnet and get the mrs to pull the catch lever.lol if that fails its the garage  ---------- Post added 04-01-2013 at 22:20 ----------  pushing the bonnet at same time as trying the catch has done the trick for now anyway:) Edited January 4, 2013 by southcoast
 Share this content via...
zigzag   10 #7 Posted January 5, 2013 If the pushing on the bonnet does not work try pulling the whole cable either from the back of the release handle or better still from inside the grill using something with a hooked end like a coat hanger. Obelix   11 #9 Posted January 5, 2013 Once open you should be able to adjust the cable length, either from the lever or catch end. The problem is that the cables stretch with use. Also slap a load of grease onto the catch and release grips, will make it much easier next time
 Share this content via...

Obelix   11 #11 Posted January 5, 2013 I dont know the Punto specifically but you should find there is either a clamp that the cable goes through that you can slacken and move the cable in, or there may be a post the cable is wound round on the lever end.
