Litotes   63 #1 Posted January 3, 2013 Need a quotation for the replacement of the guttering on an offshot.  Single run - could be done from 2 ladders (I think)  Current guttering is wooden, but I would like to replace with plastic perhaps of a larger diameter as this one overflows if there is heavy rainfall - but I would take advice on that.  thanks  Rob
 Share this content via...

Oh, you'll have to remove the old gutter, provide a solid support for the new facia, fit the supporting timber/facia or full replacement facia, with brackets and then of course the new guttering. Then we pay insurance, fuel & time to pick up the materials, tax on the invioced total and wages for a second man. Stick to whatever it is you do for a living cause you know jack **** about the building trade, but of course we've had this conversation before. Rob, I know you contacted me about this job a few weeks ago but i'm not free until April/May time (and I think i've worked for you before so you know i'm an honest and trust worthy tradesman). Mally350z is a decent and trustworthy guy but I doubt it will be £100. If it is, run a mile!!!
 Share this content via...
zac.roofer   10 #9 Posted January 4, 2013 After all the gear and fuel for the job you left with about £35/£40 for two men for half a days work plus all your time pricing the job hmmmm may be NOT. £100 get real.
 Share this content via...
numero uno   10 #10 Posted January 4, 2013 Single storey or 2 storey off shot? Materials more likely to £50 - £60 by the time you have fascia, brackets, gutter, end caps , gutter outlets. Fuel and time picking materials up alsp time and fuel coming to look at the job and preparing quote. If you want a sensible quote please let us know. Another person has mentioned plastic that looks like wood it will probably be twinplas gutter that is min £30 for 3m and clips are more money. We have just taken some down at hands worth that was 5 years old it was south facing and the sun had deformed it. Not a fan if you something a bit better looking just go for an ogee profile plastic gutter.
 Share this content via...
