Come and join us on

Saturday 5th January A2 (6.0 miles)

New Year New Views

An urban safari taking in 3 of the most remarkable viewpoints in the city. This route is based on 3 walks promoted by the independent Sheffield Publicity Department. Come prepared for the best views the city has to offer and some surreal moments: Arbourthorne ("the highest of all Sheffield's viewpoints"), Skye Edge ("literally the point where the sky meets the ground") and Pye Bank ("an immense, walk-in panorama of the city") where an entire community was demolished a few years ago leaving an eerie wilderness. After all this enjoy a well-earned drink at the Riverside, and anyone interested can come along to visit Kelham Island museum.

Start: SK358870, Sheffield Station foyer

End: SK355882, Riverside pub

Transport: Meet at 11:00 at the walk start.

Walk Leader: Nabil A

Backmarker: Peter C

No.

We pay an annual membership though which goes to Ramblers charity to maintain footpaths etc. - only £21 annually if paid by direct debit. However, you can come up to three walks before joining to see if the group is something you are looking for...
