Fibre optic BT and Origin

Recommended Posts

Not really that keen on line rental, always struck me as a bit of a burn, however I guess I could stomach one if it's not in any way BT related.

Do you have any details, how much is the line rental on a data only line from Origin? Who fits it?

Try pm ing Origin Pete on here or use this to contact them

Hi Does anybody have Fibre optic broadband on the Acorn Estate Stannington? Gill Croft, Spoon mews, Lomas Lea? According to origin website it's not available to all on the estate?

Thanks Owls11

Try ringing them up they are always available and friendly

Thanks for reply, I've called origin today and its not available at all boxes, what's not clear is when or if it will be available later. BT say all houses will have FOB by end2013?

The easiest way is to check out http://www.origin-broadband.co.uk/

click on the package you're interested in, the phone line is £14.60 a month with free evening and weekend calls (BT £15.45 without)

Also click on availability and you can see if you can get it :)

I checked them all out before going with Origin, although I wouldn't have gone with BT if they'd been 1/2 the price

Sure, Virgin Media, no line rental whatsoever.

When you include line rental, Origins prices seem on the high side to me.

I think this is all a question of the quality of your broadband service - not just the measured speed. Most people don't know the difference which is a shame.

Virgin fibre = heavy traffic management, peak time slowdowns.

Origin = uncontended non traffic managed service with no blocked websites, no peak times and a local service.

Hahahahahah

Virgin does not even nearly begin to compete with Origin!
