byeo   10 #15 Posted December 23, 2012 Nigel if you want to raise money we are looking for sponsors to help a little 2 year old girl who has cerebal palsy be able to walk and play like any other child, she needs to have the operation in the USA because our NHS is so cash strapped that we can't train anyone over here in this field. Maybe we should get our priorities right. See link  It's great what you are doing for this little girl but who are you to judge what people can and can't raise money for ? I'll pledge nothing to both, but good luck anyway.
 Share this content via...

I'll pledge nothing to both, but good luck anyway.  Nobody really but I pay taxes and am appalled at all the resources that are wasted on people who abuse our hospitals when we can't even train one or two specialists for these children so they either spend their entire lives being unable to walk properly or try and raise £50,000 to have op in America
 Share this content via...
Vague_Boy   10 #17 Posted December 23, 2012 Cool.  Ken Mattingly was supposed to be part of the crew of Apollo 13 but due to concerns about illness, he was replaced by Kevin Bacon .  He flew as command module pilot on Apollo 16 and also flew the space shuttle. Good mood   10 #19 Posted December 24, 2012 I am trying to raise money to bring one of the 24 Men who went to the Moon to Sheffield.  He will be doing a lecture and meet and greet.  It would be at Sheffield Hallam University hopefully in August 2013.  The fee is high but it is achievable with some luck.  Any questions feel free to get in touch via Kickstarter  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1408235485/bring-apollo-astronaut-ken-mattingly-to-the-uk  All my best  Nigel  Helen Sharman will do it for nowt. Bethsmummy   10 #21 Posted December 24, 2012 Helen Sharman will do it for nowt.  She'd trip up on the way.   I know of two families trying to raise money for life-saving treatment for their children and I'm afraid in my eyes, they are a much more worthy cause. Good mood   10 #22 Posted December 24, 2012   I know of two families trying to raise money for life-saving treatment for their children and I'm afraid in my eyes, they are a much more worthy cause.  Here here. Dont get me wrong, I'm totally fascinated by the moon landings, space missions and all things intergalactic in general, I really am, but I dont care much for individuals that think they're celebrities and charge ridiculous fee's to grace us with their presence, when money would be better spent elsewhere. harestone   10 #23 Posted December 24, 2012 £45'000, are you mental. ? Is he planning on staying a whole year. ?  I'm not unfamiliar with the night skies and it's contents, i'm all for diversity and niche interests too, but this is plainly ludicrous.
