jaffa1 Â Â 10 #101 Posted December 22, 2012 You can bulldoze a Grade II building? Like everything else on this land, rules are made to be broken. Â Why give buildings a Grade 11 listing if it means nothing.
 Share this content via...

tbtc   10 #105 Posted December 22, 2012 Public opinion want's this piece of Sheffield history saving  Does "Public Opinion" know what it wants doing with the building long term?  Or is this just another one of those buildings (like the one on Exchange Place) that people say they don't want knocking down, but don't really have any future use for?  The City Council are being left with various "listed" / "preserved" obstacles like Castle House in the city as it is. jaffa1 Â Â 10 #106 Posted December 22, 2012 Why doesn't the University just gut the inners and renew and then clean up the shell of it. It's been done on many other old buildings in other towns.
 Share this content via...
steamnratbag   10 #107 Posted December 23, 2012 There is a link here to a website which debunks the arguments which the university and council are using to justify their plans. It also illustrates how it could be used.   http://www.jessophospital.org.uk/
 Share this content via...
liam1412 Â Â 14 #108 Posted December 23, 2012 Why? Â So it can stand rotting like the rest of Sheffields "historical buildings". Old buildings are not practical, and will not be used again, so will stand empty and rot to the point the are unstable and have to be knocked down, probably at the expense of the council. Â Let someone buy it, pay to have it knocked down, and rebuild something that will be used for another 100 years.
 Share this content via...
