martin-f   10 #2 Posted January 3, 2013 hi, not sure if your still looking to buy one, but i have a fisher f75 ltd with 3 coils and on a stright shaft, its a top end machine but easy for begginers to use, 500 pounds no offers,  as for places to go you need to get permission from land owners, its not easy work gaining permission, but if you keep trying you will get some, if i can help you any more, please let me know, martin
 Share this content via...

I thought they were £100 quid jobby's.  What's the difference between a cheapy, and the very expensive.  Angel.
 Share this content via...
hitch_1980 Â Â 10 #6 Posted November 22, 2013 I know of a few crop marks around east and south east Sheffield. I don't have a metal detector so If anyone with a metal detector wants to join me, or if I could borrow one that would be good as I want to get some evidence to date the sites. I've a gps accurate to within a metre or so given good conditions.
 Share this content via...

GLASGOWOODS Â Â 10 #12 Posted November 22, 2013 Always wanted to start metal detecting as a hobby. Watched a guy last summer down in Ayr. He was detecting about half a mile from the sea, where the old sail ships used to dock in port. He was in shallow water and forever bending down to pick something up. His gains where anything from coins from Cromwell times (there's a citadel close by where Cromwells troops where stationed)) to a gold ring which he reckoned was from the 1980s. Â So always interesting stuff..
 Share this content via...
