Day one sales for Arctic Monkeys new album was 120,000. The album is outselling all the other top 20 albums combined.

 

They expect sales to top 350,000 this week, although there are fears that stock may run out before then.

 

This is a band from Sheffield. Its f**kin' unbelievable!!!!!

They are a good band but like most acts nowadays are over-hyped. The music is good and instantly recognisable. I like 'em.

 

Now how about this musical formula: Ordinary Boys = (a poor) Madness...?

well I didn't buy it on the back of the hype. I bought it on the strength of the songs. Which sometimes sound a bit Libertinesy, but better. But I like the Libertines as well, so can't complain. Why don't you listen to the record, make your own mind up?

 

I think the fact they're from Sheffield just gives us something else to be proud of!
