Micky ET Â Â 10 #386 Posted August 13, 2013 Do you have to have a combi boiler fitted as we have a standard boiler which I prefer? Â We are currently fitting worcester s and can fit a standard boiler or combi boiler which ever suit your needs best, however we may have to change the cylinder and upgrade the heating controls. Micky ET Â Â 10 #388 Posted August 14, 2013 Would the cylinder and controls upgrade be chargeable or are they also free? Â Our funding provider, does not let us charge for extra works so we would only ever do a job if the whole job could be funded. coop   10 #390 Posted August 18, 2013 Easy enough to check with a multimeter where the fault lies. Without looking I would still suspect the valves. When you said replaced, was that the whole valve assembly or just the head.  In such an old system there will be loads of crud in the pipework and it sticks to the bung in the valve body. So people will change the valve head and within months the microswitch burns out or sticks in open position.   Are you sure its the microswitch that burns out? Why would sludge in the system cause the microswitch to stick or burn out? Do you mean the mechanish driving the microswitch will stick? and do you mean that the synchronous motor will burn out? Micky ET Â Â 10 #391 Posted August 19, 2013 (edited) Are you sure its the microswitch that burns out? Why would sludge in the system cause the microswitch to stick or burn out? Do you mean the mechanish driving the microswitch will stick? and do you mean that the synchronous motor will burn out? Â Â Most External diverter valves have a little rubber ball in them which is in turn connected to a motor which then connects to a micro switch which allows the heating or hot water to then come on via the boiler . what generally happens is that sludge sticks around the ball making it stiff to operate, the motor then will not fully close or open and make contact with the micro switch. Hope this answers you question. Â Â Â Mike Edited August 21, 2013 by Micky ET
 Share this content via...

Micky ET   10 #394 Posted August 21, 2013 Where's the best place to buy a 32kw boiler  they may be cheaper online , but beware there are some companies out there that sell you the goods and don't deliver, I know you may be covered by your card but it is not worth the hassle. Best place is plumbers merchant the independent will be cheaper if you want to buy one or if you go through your plumber he may be able to get you a discount. My other advice would b to get at least 3 quotes for the fitting of the boiler and check who ever is fittings it is gas safe registered !  We would be more than happy to offer you a free quote .     Thanks  Mike
 Share this content via...
