PaulH999
I’m staggered that Sheffield Council and planners have approved the installation of a further 65 mobile phone base stations across parts of Sheffield with no consultation over the impending health issue for our community!! Angry is not the word…..the residents of Dore have a right to campaign against them, four base stations and masts being very near primary schools. In France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland Wi-fi, Cordless phones and mobiles are not allowed in many schools for children under the age of 11 because of the impact radiation from mobiles and phone masts can have on their development they exercise much greater care to protect health when siting base stations. But no our council takes the money with no regard to the health and welfare of its tax payers. In 2011 the World Health Organisation reclassified mobile phones as possibly carcinogenic and last month the Italian Supreme Court upheld a ruling in favour of a businessman that claimed heavy use of his mobile phone caused his tumour. Of course the mobile phone manufacturers already have this covered; in all there safety instructions (that nobody reads) it clearly states not to place an operating phone next to the body – this warning is printed in all mobile phone safety instruction books. If the council carries on agreeing to these base stations residents will living in Microwave stew which over the next few years will throw up many side effects, cancers, depression and chronic illnesses there’s plenty of information out there about its damaging effects but the industry brings in £15 Billion pounds a years so nobody hears our voice or do they? There’s no way our local MP’s should be nodding these through its disgraceful! I accept the technology is here to stay and ingrained on our lives but you still have control you can turn Wi-fi routers off at night, take mobiles and cordless phones out of bedrooms and if you to use a mobile phone for any length of time use an air tube headset it reduces the radiation to the head by over 99%! anywebsite
What health issue? Try to explain it without sounding insane.
geared
I'd rather see some actual proof, rather than conjecture.
anywebsite
There isn't any proof & I haven't seen much conjecture that doesn't sound paranoid.
crimescene27
You do know that is a myth right? If radiation came out of mobile phones the BILLIONS of users would have some form of cancer, most likely tumours, since there is NO CORRELATION between these two there is no cause for any alarm. Genuinely thought that this in-factual 'science' had died down now. Why is it still around?
anywebsite
Radiation does come out of mobile phones, otherwise they wouldn't work. Nobody has proved any danger, being able to detect signals unaided or anything like that.
geared
You're confusing electromagnetic radiation with 'radioactive' radiation. One is clearly very dangerous to humans, but there's still no decent proof that our bodys respond to long term exposure to the electromagnetic radiation emitted by phones. anywebsite
OK then Einstein, explain the difference.
altus
You're confusing electromagnetic radiation with 'radioactive' radiation. One is clearly very dangerous to humans, but there's still no decent proof that our bodys respond to even the most massive of doses of electromagnetic radiation. Apart from the wavelengths that are ionising (X-rays, Gamma-rays and the higher frequency ultraviolet).
geared
You think your phone gives out gamma rays, are you serious?
