I don't know the full story but he returned to the operation in Campbellfield. He could do this as he and Jim had taken out Australian citizenship and could come and go in and out of the country as they pleased. He was export sales manager and I grew up listening to his amazing stories visiting mines in remote places all around the world. How I loved those evening slide shows of his travels!
