Minimum spec gaming pc

I think what I'm selling here would be ideal for you.

 

The HD 5770 is around the same spec as the 550ti Graphics card, I would take a little less also, I do have a widescreen monitor but has 2 big scratches on the screen.

Misco.co.uk is always worth a look for brand new systems at realistic prices, as is EuroPC.co.uk Though the latter tend to deal more in factory refurbished items but the prices are hard to argue with however given the lads age a dedicated games console is probably a better investment for all the family.

A 15 quid PSU in a gaming rig. Bad idea. For a gaming rig you want at least a bronze rated 80+ PSU and those don't come in under £50 by themselves, let alone with a case.

PC Gaming is an expensive hobby, it's £500 for a basic gaming PC, plus monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. Maybe you could suggest a games console?

Strictly speaking you don't need a pc for minecraft, you can play that on tablets such as the Kindle Fire or Nexus 7 and it'd cost a lot less than a proper gaming PC. I haven't played it myself though so I can't say how good it is.

I think that online competetive gaming is a load of **** because it isn't a level playing field as some have more powerful PC's than others.

But the tablet version is highly limited compared to the PC version, even the xBox version is about 5 behind....
