Robbie Loving Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 almost perfect again robbie I have it every home game. Closest it has been for a long time. Just a quick one as session is about to start... Great team performance with no stand out players. Miller needs to be playing more. Blackman looks good on the wing and.... The blades go marching ON ON ON
eebygum03 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 A good result that should fill the lads with confidence.
chalga Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Big win in more ways than one.Whatever they did in training worked out,so full credit to management and players, first time this season the points were in the bag before the last few minutes. Has to be a turning point of the season, make the Lane a fortress, grind out the wins/draws away from home if necessary. The odd loss is no big deal as long as the wins keep coming regularly, but the goals have to start flowing like they did today and last season to give us a chance.
bassett-boys Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Somebody on here tipped us to give Stevenage a good seeing to, for Neil Collins to score today with his head in the wake of signing a new contract with the club and for Miller to come into the team at some point and score goals as that is what he is more than capable of. Oh yes it was me I don't know what to say other than textbook really. Overall decent enough performance and despite a comfortable victory I still think we are capable of much more than we did today. Wide play was much better today and we got ball after ball into the box which has been missing and that fared us well, Miller and Porter were both cracking but in all honesty a decent enough team performance and nobody let me down. Bring it on.

scottf Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Is it just me or did that seem a very comfortable victory today? I know the score line flattered us but I never thought we were in danger even at 1-1.

The blades go marching ON ON ON Funny you should put that I thought exactly the same but overall nobody stood out for the wrong reasons either so overall happy enough. Blackman does look good out wide which now leaves me thinking what to do up front, I'm thinking Kitson and Miller with Blackman out wide but part of me says why drop Porter when he has done so well in Kitson's absence? One thing that I would have liked to have seen is when at 3-1 up and in control of the game I think we should have thrown young Philliskirk or Ironside on for a run out maybe? A good chance to gain a bit of experience. Still a couple more gears to hit but we are going in the right direction after a bad week last week. I fear for anyone in this league if we could hit some sort of consistency because we are more than capable. These sorts of scorelines on paper should be frequent ones for us. Need to keep plodding on and hopefully have a few more games like this but most importantly keep winning and applying the pressure.
scottf Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I agree with you BB, Blackman looked excellent out wide today, can't hurt keeping him there on Tuesday.
