Anyone remember the Burngreave WMC on Gower street? What number was it? Does anybody have any pictures???

i remember it well as i used to go in most nights during the rarly 1980's mainly in the snooker romm&there was a good set of lads who used to go in

Which end of Gower street was it? ellesmere road ...? What's there now?

the building is still there its at the on the left hand side going up at the top of gower street just before the roundabout its a church now

The Shiloh Church .. bloody hell!

 

Did they have a little stage in there? For sunday shows? - My dad's club had the snooker room in the back & then out front was the 'entertainment'!

I think they might have in the concert room. I think I remember the bingo bloke standing on it.

Was there ever a conservative club in Burngreave -- find it hard to believe but I read there was a 'Con Club' circa late 80's?

Yes definately.

Very posh it was.

They sported a Billiards team that played in the Sheffield and District League.

A very nice snooker room with a couple of well kept tables.

Don't remember there being 1 in Burgreave but I can remember there being a conservative club at the bottom of barnsley road just before the crossroads.

Was it near abbyfield park! -- Do you remember the address?

Heading toward the Wicker with Abbyfield Park on your left....it was then on your left hand side.

It was set back from the road with a small car park in front of it.
