I expect they have a member of staff who, in addition to other duties, posts updates here, to twitter etc. My local fire brigade post updates from the control room. This actually helps as it means people aren't phoning up asking what's on fire (yes, people really do this!).  Yes- to confirm, we monitor the forum from time to time as a small part of our wider role to communicate to the public we serve and make the country safer.  With regards to this specific incident, our 999 Control Room was receiving a lot of duplicate calls about the fire so it was important we let people know we knew about the fire and were on our way Share this post Link to post Share on other sites Share this content via...
