I primed surface and used ordinary tile adehsiven on wall with shower on . The tiles have been on for nearly 10 years and still as firm as the day they were put on. Cant see there being any bother on a kitchen wall with ordinary tile adhesive so long as its proper stuff out of a tub like richi fix i think they call it. As for grout i used ordinary water proof stuff a powder that you mix with water thats been okay no problems. Shower is used every day
