Puppy Farming - Lets all take action

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Every day in the UK a dog is killed every hour in council run pounds. We, the tax payer, are paying local government to kill healthy dogs, dogs who just need a home. Meanwhile, local councils are issuing more and more licenses to puppy factory farmers to breed more and more dogs, its lunacy. Councils are failing to properly inspect these puppy factories or enforce their license conditions and the animal welfare act.

A wonderful group came to my attention last night ... dogsrus.. They campaign for all the neglected breeding dogs kept in appalling conditions and demonstrate against the sale of their poor puppies outside shops that sell them.. It is a valiant effort but the root of the problem lies with our MP.. If all friends of Sheffield Forum, follow this link and send an email to our MP we can highlight this issue in the animal cruelty hotspot of South Yorkshire.

It will only take five minutes and, as Tesco say, every little helps. Surely its worth a try to help our four legged companions.

Stop puppy farming. Stop the cycle.

Well done Kerry for standing up and trying to do something about this. I hope you can rally people off their back sides and do something - its easy to blink, and turn the other way about many bad things - it takes a strong person to say 'I will help'.

The lady who founded dogs r us, campaigns tirelessly without credit, without bells and whistles and everyone being asked to thank her. she expects no thanks other than hoping that the general public will say 'THIS IS WRONG, I WANT TO HELP'.

I will write to my MP for a starter and see what happens - I did do it many years ago but have been swamped with trying to help local dumped and dying dogs - puppy farm dogs just do get forgotten.

Will write also. I can remember a while ago I found a site online that helped rehomed xpuppy farm breeding machines & being in tears. The thing that stuck with me was "not had much human contact so will require socialisation" I was disgusted these poor little dogs have never known what it's like to be stroked, loved, petted or even a nice lap to go to sleep on. They just used as breeding machines. & disposed of when no longer useful. It could be easy easy to discourage people to buy from these farms but they rarely advertise the fact and use all sorts of tricks to try & convince people they aren't farms
