charliewag   19 #1 Posted November 14, 2012 i found out today that alderfen at wroot is closed while march. i don't fish it often but i've always enjoyed a couple of winter pike sessions there. the only reason i can think of is that if angler numbers have dropped this season the owner might have thought it's not worth keeping it open. the carp lake (which holds the pike) increased from £7.50 to £10 a day this year. rodnreeluk   10 #2 Posted November 16, 2012 Thanks for the info. If they've closed because of a lack of anglers you'd think they'd try putting the prices down instead of up. Pure greed!
 Share this content via...
charliewag   19 #3 Posted November 16, 2012 i think he leases the carp lake to a syndicate during the winter months as well as allowing day tickets. they might have insisted on sole use but there are two other lakes on site and the whole complex is closed.
