O.K. then what or who is God?

Recommended Posts

And I meant 'Do you mean 'Is it capable of anything?'.

Yes !

I think Joan Osbourne made some very valid observations.

What if god was one of us

just a slob like one of us

just a stranger on a bus

trying to make his way home

Why do you think they may have been "valid observations"?

That is a question, though you've left out the question mark, and not an observation/s.

Well, I take What if god was one of us to be much more than a question.

It is to make us think on a higher level.

Maybe god is one of us,

maybe god is the paramedic that saves a dying child by the roadside

maybe god is the surgeon who performs a miracle surgery

maybe god is the kind range rover driver that pulled your car out of the snow

maybe god is the bus driver that saw you running and stopped for you

maybe god is one of us, maybe god is you and me when we are at our best, helping our fellow man simply as an act of kindness for no gain, just love.

amen

Higher than what exactly?

No. It's a question. Try adding a question mark if that helps.

Top deck of a bus? Top of Mt. Everest? What does that mean?

Maybe god is one of us,

...and maybe not.

Ah! Women!

I think you and cyclone may well be soul mates. (...and maybe not)

Cyclone? I suffer from wind occasionally. ...or other people suffer when I suffer from wind to be more precise.

(Is cyclone a user name on this forum?)

Bet you're the life and soul of a party eh.

The life, perhaps. There's no such things as souls.

Where, what time, and do I need to bring a bottle?

Yes, it is capable of anything.

Do/did you imagine/imagined that or believe/believed it?

Look, this is what I'm talking about. You've got to cut that stuff right out if you're to be invited anywhere. Think about it, how many christmas parties have you been invited to this year? See, starting to realise now eh. Nobody likes a killer of fun. Now, you can come to the party if you absolutely promise not to be yourself. Do you promise?

I don't think you really know what you're talking about

You sound like an imaginary friend (i.e. god). "Follow orders or you don't get into heaven."

Nobody likes a killer of fun.

You've got it the wrong way round. It's theists that are killers of fun, not atheists. Atheists don't care what you do with your dangly bits (..as long as it's consensual...), nor whether you drink alcohol. So that's catholics and muslims who are less fun than me.

Now, you can come to the party if you absolutely promise not to be yourself. Do you promise?

Wow! You didn't mention it was fancy dress! Last fancy dress I went to was in Scotland. I went as William Wallace. Blue make-up and lots of "FREEDOM!" It was great.

Of course I promise to dress up.
