truman Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 On the road, between Catcliffe and the corporation golf course. You've not driven on that road then to have thought "look out for the pedestrian before I gun it out to the motorway" ... One lad was killed there, I believe, some years ago. Don't drive the road very often..no excuse I know...maybe better signage is needed..

I think you will find that we are talking about Bochum Parkway. Nowhere near Catcliffe.
DT Ralge Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I think you will find that we are talking about Bochum Parkway. Nowhere near Catcliffe. I'll excuse you for not reading my earlier posts. No reason to be curt or rude, though, unless you plan to get hold of the wrong end of the stick. Sorry to have responded to a contributor's question about where there is a footpath across the Parkway (at the point where NSL applies) relative to two footpaths that cross the Bochum Parkway (40 mph).
Planner1 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 There aren't any signals on that stretch of road (Bochum Parkway) I'd suggest you read the post properly and look at the post I was quoting from, which referred to Penistone Road, where there are a lot of signals

I've been following the whole thread, thank you. Please try and be accurate with your labelling. When you write 'the Parkway' do you mean 'Sheffield Parkway'? That would be the one that gets close to Catcliffe.
DT Ralge Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Well Truman and I knew what we were talking about. Thankyou for correcting me, but it still feels like you got hold of the wrong end of the stick and shot from the hip rather tetchily. Do you make a habit of barging into others' discussions?
masbrolass Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 This road needs some sort of crossing. Vehicles think they are driving in the Grand Prix when coming off the roundabout near Meadowhead. Motorbikes are doing wheelies and lorries suck you in. For goodness sake raise the speed limit I don't care but I don't want killing on the damn thing. There was a subway once but that gate is locked and the embankment too steep to climb. Even though there are two pedestrian signs it seems saving a few seconds is more important than having an accident. Rant over.
