Halibut Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 After seeing some with them up and the kids asking all weekend to put them up I'm thinking of doing it, has anyone else got there's up yet? Good grief no, we've only just had bonfire night.
Halibut Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Oh I couldn't wait that long, the kids love them up, we take them down on the 1st of January, the kids would have them up all yr if they could, And they'd probably eat ice cream for every meal if you let them too! I'm a great believer in the notion of deferred gratification, especially with kids. If you do something too soon, or too often or too readily, it loses its specialness.
fozzybear210 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 No but I have got blissmas on record for Friday morning.
snakebec Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Some posts have been removed. The OP posted a simple question, lets not take it off topic into some sort of political debate. There are plenty of other opportunities for those. Thanks. Thank u for removing. I don't think it loses anything, it just means there excitement lasts longer, they have been watching Xmas films since the 1st Nov, We normally put them up in November anyway, Edited November 13, 2012 by medusa fixed tags
Staffy23 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 It's mid November. I expect we'll put them up around the 20th Dec. Same here. Then down again by dec 29th

Mrs Overall Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 My birthdays in the middle of December, after my cards come down we start thinking about Christmas decorations.. But I haven't got young children, I still love Christmas because of our young grandson..

I'm also a believer in deferred gratification! especially with big kids, ie adults..............but try telling that to the retail circus in Meadowhall this Xmas. After all,if we all keep buying enough Chinese imported "stuff",that will get us out of recession..................won't it?
