eebygum03 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Per gramme of pure gold? There's a huge difference in the gold content depending on purity. Something like 9 ct gold is hardly gold, it's mostly base metal. It's 9/24ths gold (i.e. only 3/8ths or 37.5% gold content). 9ct is "£12.61 today. 22ct is £30.82 today.
Eric_Collins Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 We deal with a scrap gold man from time to time. He's like the people who sit in large supermarkets and shopping centres with an A frame swing sign and a paste board. He brags He charges what he wants. if you look like your from the Jeremy Kyle show and it's for cans he gives you enough for a few cans even if the golds worth 10x more. He makes up his own daily scrap rate which is way way lower than book. He even put photographs on his signage of Manchester city FC football trophy and said he'd bought it for £80 scrap. If there's one that's a con-man then there are others. I'd take gold to someone reputable and not like some, a man with a sandwich board and a flip sign.
