Free lunch and bible!

Recommended Posts

Just had the Gazette through the door, and a leaflet fell out.

"Come along for a... FREE Lunch and Bible!"

Event held tomorrow at Brethens Gospel Hall on Carterknowle Road at 1pm - 2pm

small print states there is no church service, nothing to pay and nothing to sign, the sole purpose is to distribute bibles... and burgers by the look of the flyer!

So if you are hungry tomorrow lunch time, this could be perfect for you :)

As for the rest of the Gazette, if you are wondering, its the usual, last months 'highlights' from the Star, and lots of adverts!

Just had the flyer put through our letterbox and seen the posters too.

Weird ... this is the Exclusive Brethren we are talking about. Are they really threatening to go all inclusive on us, or is something else motivating them?

The Exclusive Brethren refuse to eat with the infidel, use computers, listen to radios, watch tv, read newspapers or pretty much have any access with the outside world. They refused one 8 year old girl to be friends with my daughter after she invited her for a sleepover.

Don't expect them to join you in the burger eating.

They can nip out to Tesco and for pitta bread and some herring.

I had 2 very smart looking little boys come in to my shop in Bradway all excited. They handed me this leaflet and asked me to tell all my friends.

this is the Exclusive Brethren we are talking about.

The name itself is a dead give away.

If they're offering Kool-Aid with the burgers, I'd suggest polite refusal.

We got that leaflet too. It's all a bit strange as normally the Brethren (who are very strong locally) are keen on keeping themselves apart from everyone else.

Or as I'd like to call it, free lunch and firelighter combined with an hour of droning on
