I1L2T3 Â Â 10 #1 Posted October 29, 2012 Time for new trainers again. Been a while since I had gait analysis done. Any recommendations for decent shops/physios/podiatrists in the Sheffield area? Willing to look at alternatives to shops because of a bad experience once - ended up injured after being sold the wrong shoes. If there is a decent trustworthy shop that would be good though. jemson   10 #2 Posted October 30, 2012 Sweatshop at m hell has Mark who is very knowledgeable and accelerate are helpful but stock a very narrow range of brands.
 Share this content via...
cjcjjs8 Â Â 10 #3 Posted October 30, 2012 I agree with Jemson - SWEATSHOP all the way. They've got a couple of machines that measure your stance and style of foot strike / gait (supinator or pronator etc) plus they also sell and fit Footbalance insoles which are absolutely fantatsic but cost almost as much as the trainers :-( but I consider them to be essential if you are prone to injury or have a gait like a weirdo. Â Oh yeah, theyve got a treadmill to try the trainers out on as well.
 Share this content via...
scottf   21 #4 Posted October 30, 2012 There is also up and running in attercliffe- not quite as high-tech as sweatshop but they do have gait analysis and its staffed by runners who will know what you want and will advise accordingly. mansell85 Â Â 10 #5 Posted October 30, 2012 I went to Up and Running in the city centre on Church Street. They filmed me running and recommended some trainers. It's not as cheap as Decathlon but you get good customer service.
 Share this content via...
jemson   10 #6 Posted October 31, 2012 Isn't the Attercliffe place closed now?
 Share this content via...
runningowl   10 #7 Posted October 31, 2012 It's accelerate in attercliffe. They are good at what they do and won't sell you the wrong shoes. Stu, debs, chris and Adela know their stuff and do try most of the shoes they sell themselves before agreeing to stock them. They would be my recommendation  Keeponrunning is the shop in attercliffe that closed but it had lost its way in the couple of years before it closed. Was on the cards  Sweatshop is ok as long as you get Mark and not one of the muppets that currently work there.  Upnrunning on high street are good also with phil the owner being your best bet.  Decathlon try to pretend they know their stuff but avoid if you want a professional opinion.
