Scariest Horror Movies

Recommended Posts

I've seen lots of horror movies over the years but not sure if I've seen the scariest. Just wondered if anyone know of any really scary movies.

The first saw is a brilliant gory horror but the best psychological thriller type movie has to be silence of the lambs. I just rewatched it ands its easy to forget just how good it is. Hannibal has to be the best "baddie" ever!

Blair witch, seven and scream are also quite high on my list. Hard question:hihi: I love good horror/thriller but theres a lot of rubbish in that genre-the worst ever in my eyes being "the descent" I have never been to another film where the audience all laughed at the end. It wasn't even in the so bad its good category.

Ps I have an absolute moth phobia. I believe it stems from silence of the lambs-that part of the film requires hiding behind a cushion arachnophobia style (which incidently is another brilliant film that probably does belong in the so bad its good category)

My horror movies experience says that “Scream” is a serious one, it gave me a real hard time at the nights I couldn’t sleep few days with a peaceful of mind. Pretty scary though!

Halloween.

The combination of the music and the suspense. Nothing happens for a long time but the tension builds up.

That theme tune still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Yes Halloween and John Carpenter had lots of stinging themes, I also loved the stalking theme at the end.

Here is a superb theme by Alan Howarth for Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982), which is also a fantastic and creepy film.

Talking of John Carpenter, The Fog (1980) is also a superb piece of work and Village of the Damned (1995) with Christopher Reeve.

Who can forget the magnificent The Wicker Man (1973) with Edward Woodward.
